Mr. Katz is a Partner and Head of Portfolio Management within the Ares Infrastructure Debt team. Previously, he served as the Co-Head of the Direct Lending Valuation Team, where he oversaw workouts and restructurings of underperforming investments. Prior to joining Ares in 2006, Mr. Katz was a Vice President at CDG Group, a boutique restructuring firm, where he focused on a broad range of financial and operational turnarounds for debtors, lenders, and other creditor groups. Previously, Mr. Katz worked at Ernst & Young LLP, where he focused on middle market merger and acquisitions transactions. Mr. Katz holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan in Economics.
